Hawaiian Tropic Lip Gloss Review

Hey guys :)
I bought a product a while ago that had this awesome lipgloss added to it as a free gift.
I was pleasantly surprised that its not just a gloss but UVA Protection and moisturizer
all in one. I don't love ordinary glosses, but i do love anything that can help my lips
stay soft, and in this case, protected as well.
This is the Hawaiian Tropic Lip Gloss in Island Berry.
It's a moisturizing lip gloss with SPF 25. It's actually recommended by the
Skin Cancer Foundation, which I think its really good for holidays
or if you live in a warm area with common sunshine.

It has a lovely fruity smell to it but its very subtle. When you put it onto
your lips you can definitely taste a sort of a sweetness, its not too strong
but I don't think I'd want to taste that all day, I'd get a little sick to be honest.
The packaging says to "apply frequently and generously" - but for me
one application every 4-6 hours is enough for my lips to stay soft.

It comes with this applicator - which I'm not a huge fan of really.
However, this is a product that I would definitely take on holidays,
and for this an applicator like that is very good because it's quick to use.
You get 20ml/grams in the tube which will last a LONG time.

The gloss doesn't add much color to my lips, my lips are quite pigmented
so this only adds a subtle glossiness to it. The good thing is that a little amount
covers the entire lips so I think it would last a good while.

This retails for £7.49 in Boots in the UK.
I'm not sure about the price in Ireland, I haven't seen this sold individually yet.
I'd say it would cost around €8.50 here, which isn't that bad.
I paid around €3.50 for the last lip balm I got that was moisturizing,
but it had no taste to it, just a slight cherry smell and it was only 4.25grams
and this is roughly double the price but almost 5 times the amount!

If you'd like to see more reviews let me know :)
Any questions are much appreciated :)

Handmade Palettes

Hey everyone :) I just wanted to share with you something I made just yesterday.

This is my very own, handmade (by me) eyeshadow palette.
I spent all yesterday converting my e.l.f. compacts (click here)
and decided to make my own palettes, and this is the first one.

Measurements:
Full Palette: 6.5 x 3 x 0.5 inches
Metal insert: 2 x 5.5 inches

The whole palette is made of thick cardboard and glue.

I decorated it with just some cupcake themed paper I had at home.
I also stuck some velcro to the edges to keep it closed.

The palette holds 20 eyeshadows from the Collection 2000 palettes.
I also put in 2 colors from my 120 Color Palette.
There are some neutrals, and some colors, mattes and shimmers.
Just everything I might need if I'm going away :)

I'll have a tutorial coming soon :)

Hope you like it :)

e.l.f. compacts!

Hey everyone. A while ago I came across these compacts that are sold here (UK and Europe) and here (US). They are so cheap! (€1.15, or $1) AND they fit MAC eyeshadows, as the wells are the same size. You can also get eyeshadows, lipsticks and blushers from the e.l.f. website, which are always less than €2 each, and they all fit the compacts.

They are 3 square inches in size, and half inch thick. They come with a little applicator with a sponge tip and a lip brush - not the best quality but if you're on the go then they can be useful. The palette has a snap closure so it wont open by itself. There is a metal sheet under the wells, but its not magnetized, so you'll need magnets on the eyeshadows.

However! There is something else really great about these! The well insert pops out really easily! If you grab it by the space between the wells and pull gently, it will just pop out without breaking.

Here i took out the insert and stuck the metal sheet into the palette with some hot glue and it is SO handy!

Here you can see it fits 5 MAC sized eyeshadows without the insert.

It fits 4 square INGLOT eyeshadows and one from the UD Naked Palette
or it can fit 5 of the INGLOT round shadows/lipsticks

Or, 10 eyeshadows from the 120 palette (such as BH, Coastal Scents etc) plus UD Naked,
or 9 shadows from the 120 palette, 2 from the 88 palette (they are slightly smaller) and UD Naked.
This is SOO handy for if you have a favorite look that you like to do and don't want to carry huge palettes with you, and for the price I think its well worth getting a few just to have on the go.

Just keep in mind that you will need magnets for these, but you can get rolls of sticky magnet cheaply on eBay.

Hope this is useful :)
